The Postgraduate Program in Medical Microbiology (PPGMM) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), in the modality of Academic Masters, was approved by the Resolution number 5/CONSUNI, of August 28^th 2002, of the University Council, and recommended by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), during the meeting of the Technical Scientific Council (CTC), on November 21^st and 22^nd 2002 (OF./CTC/CAPES No. 392/2002) and approved by the CNE (Portaria MEC 524, DOU 30/04/2008 - Parecer CES/CNE 33/2008, 29/04/2008). Additionally, the modality of Academic Doctorate was approved by the Resolution number 7/CONSUNI, of March 28^th 2008, of the University Council, and recommended by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), at the 102^nd meeting of the Technical Scientific Council (CTC), in July 2008 and approved by the CNE (Portaria MEC 590, DOU 19/06/2009 - Parecer CES/CNE 122/2009, 18/06/2009).
